The Service program for STEAM Academy participants is intended to offer students an opportunity to provide service to the community, help connect their academic studies with hands-on experiences in the community, and help them develop a sense of responsibility and commitment. It is expected that all Franklin High School students will complete the Service requirements. This may be accomplished through a service learning project or a community service project. A service learning project is one in which the teacher/student ties a project to the curriculum of a course. In a community service project, students find their own projects (with teacher approval). In either case, students must meet specific requirements in order to receive credit for their service.
